Staying off seasoned

Like people things also have a life.

I love when things are in plain sight – red strawberries, juicy oranges, cool tourists, snow peaked mountain tops – but then, they become unfocused during off season. This shift from peak to off and focused to unfocused makes you wonder what are you going to miss. How soon will they be back? Will there be more or less of them this season? Will they be different than the last time or any better?

Off season reminded me of Christmas decorations. Very soon, I could hear a jingle of a bell, feel the warmth of the lights from Christmas decoration, and the joy in my heart from the festive gathering in the house.

For now – they remain stacked, settled and silent somewhere – but they will come back to life as soon as their season approaches them.

  1. In the UK we have Christmas shops in some touristy towns which always puzzle me. How on earth do they make a living in the 10 months of the year when no-one is thinking about Christmas??
