About Me

Let’s just say I’m a blooming blogger and writer (still finding my writing style). I developed an interest in books not as a child but as an adult (that is when I compare myself to other book lovers who have been reading and writing since childhood). However, I love to read books and I try to read as much as possible.
I think I’m a little addicted to reading because I have to take a dose of reading for at least half an hour every day. I developed this self engaging habit when I started living alone; and since then books have been my best companion. Books of all genre interests me (fiction, non- fiction, literature, spiritual, self help books well! simply put I like to read anything that interests me). As I started reading I also felt a need to write. I was writing for myself for the past one year, until I was inspired by my sister to start a blog of my own (so I’m still learning to write if I compare myself to others who have been writing wonderfully well over here and in general).
I like to write about almost everything. I can say that apart from reading and writing I’m also a great observer of things and people around me. I can say that my writing is a reflection of my thoughts and what I observe around me.
Nature has always inspired me or I can say I’m a nature loving person. I’d love to explore a whole new world. Sometimes I also enjoy painting, gardening and cooking. I’m also an art lover and art collector (now please don’t think I collect paintings of Picasso or Van Gogh, I just collect things of artistic beauty that are abundant in nature or not too heavy on my pocket). Hope you enjoy my blog.

  1. You sound so down-to-Earth. Just reading this About page made me feel so relaxed, because I feel we have a lot in common. Reading is a wonderful passion to have. Do you have a favourite book? 🙂
As for writing, I think yours is terrific –it’s very relaxing to read. Even the writers who’ve been writing for a long time can always improve; I guess that’s kind of the beauty of the art. 😀
I hope you have a wonderful WordPress experience! ❤

    • I’m glad that you could stop by Ramisa. I love to read and I’m guessing you also like it or is it music…just guessing (as your blog has some beautiful musical notes). It’s hard to pick a favourite book but I like Little Women, Memoirs of a geisha,Autobiography of a yogi and Synchrodestiny. I would really want to know what do you like: books, music or writing?
Thanks again 🙂 for the wonderful compliment on my writing. Your generous words and visit has made my week. Happy meeting you Ramisa.:)

  2. Just to let you know that I’ve nominated you for The Creative Blogger Award. I would be delighted if you accept, but if you are unable to do so, that’s OK. The rules are on my post :

Hello again, Norma. I know how pushed for time you are, so I nominated you for the award that
takes less time to do. If you’d rather do the first one (which wants 5 facts about you) feel free to choose that one instead. Millie

    • Thanks again for sharing the award with me Millie. Awards are a great way to share and introduce other bloggers. I feel happy to receive awards but sharing makes me even more happier. Thanks again for thinking about my blog for this nomination.:)
      Please check the post. 🙂

      • You’re a creative person, which shows in the stories you write, and that’s something I really like. I’m so glad you’ve accepted this Award in particular, Norma. You certainly deserve it.
I agree with you about the value of these awards, too, and sharing them with others. (I’m glad they aren’t all like the Liebster one, though. It took me ages to find out how many followers each of my nominees had!) Some are much quicker to do.
I can’t help thinking that something’s got lost along the way from my second Creative Blogger Award. I’ve never come across any others that don’t ask for facts or questions to answer. That seems a bit strange. It wouldn’t help with the ‘getting to know each other’ idea that most awards promote. Still, that’s the way it came to me, so I can’t change it. You’re welcome to pick whichever of the two you prefer. The first one only asks for five facts about yourself, anyway.
Keep well. Talk again soon… MIliiie 🙂

      • Thanks for such sweet words Millie. I think being creative means seeing possibilities. I admire your creativity as every story has a different twist to offer. We have a lot of creative story tellers around at WP. I sometimes find it difficult to find a new angle for my fiction stories. It’s not writer’s block but just a need to slow down. How about you do you have those slow moments?
Awards are a symbol of appreciation from other blogger friends and also encourages to share it with the others – I like the idea of “keep it rolling”- however, they can be time consuming at times. Receiving, sharing random facts, answering questions are all fine but it takes time to nominate (if you follow the rules – clicking, checking the no of followers i.e. more than or less than a certain number, then some are award free zones). May be that’s why some bloggers share an open nomination with all their followers. Best wishes until next time. 🙂

      • You’re right… there are a lot of creative people on WP and many of them do the ff challenges. Many are quite young and just need to develop their style, just as we all do. All writers need continuous practice. I think we all have slow moments, too. Sometimes the brain just needs time to mull over ideas, even for a short story.
With awards, I’ve only found the Liebster one annoying to do. Finding the number of followers was a real pain. Most awards are much easier, and quicker to do. Mind you, there are lots more around that I don’t know about yet. I haven’t had that many myself. My blog will be a year old at the end of July. It hardly grew at all until after Christmas because I was doing only one post a week, if that. I was finishing off my second book, so I just didn’t have the time for more. As I said earlier, I will have to cut down again, soon.
I’m gald you persevered with the Liebster Award. I almost gave up on it myself! 🙂

      • You are right about those slow moments. All these writing challenges are good. Even if you don’t write for them, it is good to read. I love reading them whenever I’ve the time. And when you read you would want to comment.
I’m so happy that you’ll be completing one year soon. 🙂 It’s always good to be a part of a blog from the very beginning. Good to see that you are focusing on your book but though sad to miss your posts. I think three posts are good enough per week that is if you have a busy schedule or working on something else that is more important than blogging.

      • The unfortunate thing is that I love doing the flash fiction, but they will be the posts I have to cut down on (or cut out altgether for a while) while I write my book. I have a few people now waiting for Book 3, so I can’t afford to doolally around any more! (How well up are you on quotes?)

      • I know at times it feels like it takes a lot of time and can be tiring for your mind. All these fiction challenges are no doubt good but when you are working on something else it seems to take time. It helps one to get better. So you might have to work less on the word limit but you still have to work on other things related to story and writing. With the deadline to meet I can understand even the most imaginative mind can feel the stress. It has happened with me. So don’t let anything distract you – prioritize and focus on what is important. This is a very supportive blogging community so blog and the bloggers will be there and they mostly understand. Thanks for asking about the quotes. I like to write them when they happen. 🙂

      • I asked about quotes because I was about to nominate you to do a three day quote challenge. It means you post three favourite quotes (on anything you like) over three days. It’s three extra posts to do, but they are very c=short. You nominate three other bloggers. I’ ll be posting my first quote later today. 🙂

      • Hi Millie. Thanks for the nomination. I’ve got the link. I’ll do it may be today or tomorrow (as I’m busy today but not tomorrow). See you later. 🙂 Oh! how long will you be gone to Wales?

      • We’re at the hotel in Chester at the moment and just about to head off to meet relatives in Wales to go for lunch. Glad you’re doing the quotes – any topic you like, or just mix and match. I’ll be back home on Saturday – but I have my laptop here, so I’ll pop on WP when I can. I’ve scheduled my next two quotes for today and tomorrow. 🙂

      • That’s great! 🙂 I’m so glad you’ve accepted, Norma – and there’s no rush to do the post. I’m the world’s worst at getting round to doing them myself. At least this one doesn’t involve answering a lot of questions or writing any yourself. 🙂

      • Hey Millie thanks again. 🙂 I’ve done the post. I really enjoyed this one as there were only two questions. But one could do an entire post on it. Please check the post. 🙂

  3. Hey! I just found your blog and I really like it! And after reading this page I have established that we have much in common! Except I’ve been reading and writing since I was little. But that doesn’t matter really. What matters is how deeply you fell in love with art and literature!
So yeah it is great o have discovered you! 🙂 Hope to read more from you!

I’ve nominated you for the Real Neat Blog Award! You don’t have to answer my questions for this or pass it along if you don’t want to. I just nominated you because I think your blog and your photography are both fantastic. 🙂 I hope you accept the award!
