What is good about having pet

Growing up in a house where there were 2 dogs and 7 to 8 cats always made me wonder why aren’t they chasing each other unlike shown on cartoons. However, they lived peacefully with each other and that amazed me a lot.

Needless to say, taking care of pets not only need time on one’s part but also a lot of dedication, love and care.

At the end of it, the relationship that you share with a pet is not that of give and take; it’s a speechless, loving and caring bond. They just make your day by being there with you.

All that matters to me…

Should we miss people who are far away from us?

But why… or should I…?

We don’t tend to miss people who are always in our hearts and minds.

They dance in my thoughts and rejoice in my feelings.

Inspite the distance, I don’t feel the distance.

Inspite the absence, I don’t feel their absence.

I only feel the joy of them being there somewhere.

As I know, that they are safe, happy and healthy.

And that is all that matters to me.

Toiling the soil

This is a story for Friday Fictioneers, which is hosted by Rochelle. Every week you are challenged to write a 100 word story based on a photo.

Thanks to Connie Gayer for this week’s photo and also to Rochelle for hosting the challenge.

I’ll be out on a vacation for a week and will have no access to the net so I would like to apologize for the delay in replying to your comments. Thanks to all the readers for reading and commenting. See you’ll next week. 🙂

“Grandda! Grandda! Look, green leaf!” I clapped my hands and said. He tilled the soil, watered and nurtured the plants.

I remember sprinkling some beans, thinking of getting a beanstalk of my own like Jack. But none showed up.

It’s raining. Best time for the plants. I see them smile or I feel so.

The peas, tomatoes, bell peppers, eggplants and other colourful flowers are all dancing with joy in my small garden. Toiling the soil is hard but he taught me well.

I still remember him say, “work hard on the soil, nurture the plants and enjoy its fruits.”

Sharing my day 2 quote:

Find out the reason that commands you to write; see whether it has spread its roots into the very depth of your heart; confess to yourself you would have to die if you were forbidden to write. – Rainer Maria Rilke

A perfect quote that I’d like to dedicate to the love of writing and reading, because there are writers who write and readers who read.

Magical Boots

This is a story for Friday Fictioneers, which is hosted by Rochelle. Every week you are challenged to write a 100 word story based on a photo.

Thanks to Courtney Wright for this week’s photo and also to Rochelle for hosting the challenge.

Thanks to all the readers for their time, too.

PHOTO PROMPT submitted by Courtney Wright.

The girl prodded her path with a wooden stick in hand.

Today, she was in luck. She found a shiny pair of boots. It hardly mattered, if they were of her size or for boys.

She picked her find and analysed them. The shiny duct tape made her think of them as some magical boots.

With a joyous chuckle, she threw her stick in the air and slid herself in the pair.

As she walked her feet could barely keep up with the shoes. They made a wish! woosh! sound. Together they disappeared in the pathway of tall grasses.
